Storage Instructions
Once baked, these cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Make-Ahead/Freezer Instructions
As with many other cookie recipes, I usually make a batch of dough, then bake half and freeze the other half.
When you want a cookie, just bake the frozen dough by adding 2-4 minutes onto the cook time. These are perfect to have on hand for those nights when you just need a little something sweet!

Can I use swerve instead of coconut sugar?
LOVE LOVE LOVE these cookies!!! Amazing recipe… was wondering if you had an estimate of calories per cookie or grams of carbs? I used a cookie scoop size. If you know that would be great! I’m terrible at math when trying to figure this out. Thanks
THANK YOU!!!!! Thank you so much for this recipe! I am on a candida diet, so I used vegan butter (dairy and I don’t get along 🙁 ), stevia and pyure (stevia & xylitol blend), non-alcohol vanilla extract and Lillie’s sugar-free chocolate chips…..and these cookies are VERY good! If anyone uses what I did, make sure to flatten out the cookies, because they won’t melt because there is no sugar to instigate that.
Thanks again!
Hello! I have been trying to make these cookies but for some reason they keep there shape and do not flatten out to resemble the ones you make! Do you think you could help me to figure out why? I do use date sugar in place of the coconut or brown sugar; do you think that is why?
Can I get the nutrition facts?
Followed the recipe….mine also didnt flatten…had to flatten before putting in the Oven. Can you let me know why yours came out perfect as shown in the picture,, or are these pics from other cookies…
If they need to be flattened before, you should mention it in your post.!!
I just have to take a moment to say that these are my absolute favorite chocolate chip cookies. This recipe turns out wonderfully every time we whip up a batch. My husband agrees and he’s usually opposed to trying recipes with healthier alternatives like almond flour. Thanks so much!
For those that forgo the coconut oil what would you use instead?
These are officially my new favorite cookie. I use the Splenda brownsugar blend to make them lower carb and sugar and they are delicious. I took a batch to work and people were asking for the recipe.
Love these! I use Swerve (Erythritol) instead of the sugar and they’re still awesome. Great for keto! When I’m mixing my coconut oil it tends to be chunky. Do you think heating it so it’s a liquid before mixing would help?
Can I use a sugar substitute (Stevia/Swerve/Truvia)?
Just made these today and they are the best cookies I’ve ever made!! Followed the recipe exactly and they came out amazing.
Hi where can I find the nutritional facts just started keto and wanting to check grams of certain ingredients thank you
I made these with a couple of tweaks and they still turned out great!
First, I used Smart Balance in place of the butter. Then I swapped the almond flour for Jovial Gluten Free Pastry Flour. I used 3/4 cup of chocolate (unsweetened baking chocolate), 1/2 cup of shredded coconut and roughly 1/4 cup of oats. They did not spread while baking, and while they are wonderfully fluffy they are a bit dry (but perfect with a glass of almond milk or a cup of coffee!). I suspect that both of these things are due to the addition of oats. Overall they are wonderful- thank you for sharing!
Trying this recipie for the first time; I didnt use the coconut oil and I used less than 3/4 cup of sugar. Theyre not even done yet and my house smells soo delish! And of course I HAD to lick the spoon after spooning out the dough and OMG!! Sooo delicious! I cant wait til these babies are done!
