Chick-fil-A Gluten-Free Menu
Good news! Lots of Chick-fil-A favorites are gluten-free. However, all food is prepared in a shared kitchen, so there’s always a risk of cross-contamination. Use your best judgement!
Here’s an official statement from the Chick-fil-A website:
Due to the handcrafted nature of our food, variations in our supplier ingredients and our use of shared cooking and preparation areas, we can’t ensure that our restaurant environment or any menu item prepared in the restaurant (other than those listed above) will be completely free of gluten. However, for our guests who are looking to minimize gluten intake, we suggest the following menu items.
Chick-fil-A does offer an individually packaged, certified gluten-free bun. Here’s an excerpt from the Chick-fil-A website:
Our gluten-free bun features a blend of gluten-free grains, including sorghum and amaranth. The bun arrives at our restaurants pre-packaged to prevent gluten cross-contact. However, once the bun is removed from its packaging it is no longer considered gluten-free because it may come into contact with ingredients in our kitchens that do contain gluten. Therefore, we encourage guests to assemble their sandwich themselves.
Other sealed, individually packaged, gluten-free items include:

chick-fil-a sauce and bbq and the honey roasted bbq isn’t gluten free
Hi Morgan, thank you for sharing your concern. Chick-fil-a’s website lists most sauces as being gluten-free, including chick-fil-a sauce, BBQ, and honey roasted BBQ. Here is their article about gluten-free choices and they have a good allergen guide too. We hope this helps!
I just went to Chik-Fil-A in Pasadena Ca, brand new facility. They indeed have gluten free buns in wrapper and let you set the grilled chicken etc into the bun. Was delicious. But a note inside said there was no guarantee that there was no gluten in the meal. “We are not a gluten free kitchen.” So I think the lawyers insisted on that disclaimer because I had no reaction. I also had the kale salad (delicious!) and the sauces you mentioned (chick-fil-a sauce and Polynesian), and their ranch dressing, no problem. So glad I read this article. I would not have even dreamed much less tried Chick-Fil-A sandwiches as so many fast foods so nothing for gluten free sensitivities.
I’m so glad you were able to enjoy a meal at Chick-Fil-A! I love the kale salad too 🙂
Any idea if the bacon bits on the cobb salad are GF? I am finding conflicting information
Hi Kristina, that’s a tough one. On Chick-fil-a’s allergen menu the bacon bits aren’t listed individually in the salad toppings section. The bacon for sandwiches does not contain wheat, but asking the company directly may be the best way to ensure the bacon bits are safe. Thank you for your question!
