Is Anything Gluten-Free at Chipotle?

Yes! In fact, almost EVERY ingredient at Chipotle is gluten-free. (Cue the confetti!) As Chipotle says on its website, the only ingredients that aren’t gluten-free are the flour tortillas for burritos and tacos.

So if you opt for crispy corn tortilla tacos or get a bowl or salad, you’re good to go!

Feel free to load up on toppings and dressings, too. They’re ALL gluten-free!

Chipotle Gluten-Free Menu

Chipotle has tons of delicious food that is naturally gluten-free. You can order almost ANYTHING on the menu without worrying about gluten — just avoid the burrito (made with a flour tortilla) or the flour tortilla tacos.

If you have a very high gluten sensitivity, you may have some concerns about cross-contamination. Thankfully, most Chipotle locations are respectful of these concerns. The company suggests asking the staff member to change their gloves before starting your order.

Here’s the allergen statement straight from their website:

“If you avoid gluten, don’t eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have trace amounts of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field.”

Our Go-To Gluten-Free Chipotle Orders

Chipotle has SO many gluten-free options to choose from. But I get it—sometimes you just want someone to walk you through the process and tell you what to order! I can definitely get overwhelmed by a large gluten-free menu, so I’ll share all of our go-to orders to help you narrow down your options!

Here are a few of our go-to gluten-free Chipotle orders:

gluten free burrito bowl topped with guacamole from chipotle

Burrito Bowl

The burrito bowl gives you all the delicious goodness you’ll find in a classic Chipotle burrito, minus the flour tortilla. You can load this bowl up with lots of different toppings, including mild or medium salsa, brown or white rice, and black or pinto beans.

I also love adding fajita veggies to this bowl for some extra nutrients! Choose your favorite meat OR skip the meat and go vegetarian.

crunchy tacos topped with queso and cheese

Crunchy Shell Tacos

Crunchy shell tacos are just like the regular soft tacos, but made with a gluten-free hard shell corn tortilla. Yum! I honestly like these even more than the regular tacos.

The crunchy shell gives it a delicious texture and perfectly compliments the meat and cheese combination. You can order a meal of three tacos, or get one taco a la carte.

chipotle salad with tomato salsa and steak

Salad

The salad is the perfect Chipotle menu choice when you want something a little lighter and healthier. You can customize the salad any way you want, and can make it lower calorie by skipping toppings like cheese or sour cream.

I love this salad with the new garlic guajillo steak or pork carnitas. This salad comes with chipotle-honey vinaigrette, but since you can add salsa on top, I feel like it doesn’t even need the dressing.

Lifestyle Bowl

The Chipotle gluten-free Lifestyle Bowl is one of the newer menu offerings. It can be customized to suit just about any diet, whether you’re macro counting, doing Whole30, Paleo, Keto, vegetarian, or vegan. And here’s the best part: ALL of the options are gluten-free!

For example, the Grain Freedom Bowl is grain-free, the Balanced Macros Bowl is light on rice and skips the sour cream and cheese, and the Wholesome Bowl skips the beans and rice. I LOVE that Chipotle gluten-free menu accommodates so many different lifestyles with this delicious bowl!

chipotle gluten free queso

Chips and Queso or Guacamole

Chips and dip are such a satisfying combination, and luckily, Chipotle gluten-free tortilla chips, queso, and guacamole are ALL delicious.

The crispy, salty chips with a hint of lime always hit the spot and taste great with a serving of salsa, too. This is a great side dish to go with one taco, or perfect for sharing with the whole family.

Crunchy Tacos Kids Meal

If you have a child eating gluten-free, choose the Kid’s Build Your Own meal with the Crunchy Tacos. This is the ONLY gluten-free kid’s meal at Chipotle! It comes with a choice of meat, gualamole or queso, and two toppings. Kids can choose fruit or chips to go with their tacos, along with juice or milk. It comes in a cute compartmentalized tray my kids love!
