Soup season is here and I’ve rounded up some of my all-time favorite gluten-free soup recipes.

I love making soup for dinner, but it’s also a great choice for meal prep. Soup only gets better as the flavors meld in the fridge for a few days, so be sure to save the leftovers for easy meals throughout the week.

Tips for Gluten-Free Soup

  • Be sure your ingredients are gluten-free. Most chicken stock and beef broth is naturally gluten-free.
  • Use tamari (gluten-free soy sauce) in place of regular soy sauce. Soy sauce is often used to perk up the flavor of soups and stews. Be sure to use gluten-free soy sauce (tamari) or even coconut aminos to keep your soup gluten-free.
  • Use gluten-free flour or cornstarch the thicken stews. Some soups and stews are thickened with a roux. A roux is basically any kind of fat and thickener whisked together. Any kind of all-purpose gluten-free flour can be subbed for regular flour when making gluten free soup.
  • Make a double batch! Soup reheats wonderfully so I alway like to make a big batch and freeze or refrigerate some for later.
  • Top with a drizzle of olive oil. I always like finishing homemade soup with some high quality olive oil. It makes the flavors sing!
